Tourist Camp

SZT Tower and Knowledge Hub, a dedication to the great thinkers
of the world. A concept to celebrate the life and philosophy, the
creation of a place to learn, live, work, relax and to explore global
knowledge. A centre for creativity, innovation, research and
education.
The Tower design is inspired by tradition and nature in the form of the Arabian cloak (Bisht), the inner garment (Thawb) and the pearls native to the region. The Arabic cloak has been chosen for both symbolic and functional reasons. It is often seen as a badge of national identity in the Middle East. Functionally its suitability as a form of dress can be applied equally to a building, to moderate the temperature and to filter the dust as well as creating a framework for supporting photovoltaics and establishing a “pergola” for shading outside spaces. It would stand as a symbol of human endeavour.
The Tower offers a programme where creativity, innovation, knowledge and life is celebrated. Spaces within the Tower offer a Conference Centre with associated accommodation, exhibition space, visitor centre, a vertical World University and Library, living accommodation, themed hotel and restaurant, and strata of social functions. This idea drives the thinking behind the Tower and Knowledge Hub and its global reach. An icon that encompasses both men and woman, all contributing to a society in which the investment made in education, research and innovation will undoubtedly reap its rewards. The Knowledge Hub at the foot of the Tower is made up of a network of Pearl-like forms. In many ways they are the perfect metaphor to express rarity and beauty of country’s natural environment. Their layering and form are playful and elegantly deal with the requirements – the idea of a place to learn, live and work. The programme is formed by offering accommodation themed towards the great thinkers of the world; past present and future. Broadly categorised in three subject areas; Human Studies, The Sciences and The Arts. They include spaces for research work, where creativity and innovation can take place with links to visitor centres and public learning facilities, and pods dedicated to great thinkers of the world, where you can learn of their endeavours.
